Visit to the East Asia Center at Zwickau University of Applied Sciences: Perspectives for Joint Events in 2026

On December 17, 2025, Dr. Xiaoli Chen and Benjamin Schreiber, members of the YiQi project, visited the East Asia Center at Zwickau University of Applied Sciences. They were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Ralph Wrobel, Head of the East Asia Center.

For many years, the East Asia Center at Zwickau University of Applied Sciences has been a key player in German-Asian – and especially German-Chinese – cooperation. It combines perspectives from economics, culture, and social sciences with practical formats and promotes exchange between academia, business, and society. During the exchange with Prof. Wrobel, the fundamental willingness to collaborate between the East Asia Center and the YiQi project was reaffirmed. Both sides see great potential in complementing each other's activities, particularly in the areas of China expertise, knowledge transfer, and dialogue between academic and non-academic stakeholders.

Specifically, it was also agreed to pursue the organization of a joint event or workshop in Sommer semester 2026. The aim is to bring together relevant stakeholders and discuss current issues in German-Chinese cooperation from diverse perspectives.

This meeting marks an important step toward deepening cooperation and further networking existing China expertise in Saxony.
