The "Let's Talk China" discussion group has successfully launched its third session. The number of participants is steadily growing, reaching 40 this time, and numerous new faces contributed valuable insights and diverse perspectives to the discussion.
In this session, Dr. Faust (Dr. Maria Faust) delivered a captivating presentation introducing the topic of media literacy in the context of China. She demonstrated the challenges of correctly interpreting reliable information and why consciously comparing different sources is more important than ever. A key focus was understanding how media functions and how media literacy has evolved over time. The topic resonated strongly, as it is highly relevant not only for developing expertise on China but also for general information management.
This event featured a change of format: participants completed a short exercise using pen and paper, reminiscent of university courses. This approach fostered greater group engagement and provided a more structured exchange.
The discussion group aims to cover both the economic and cultural aspects of China expertise. Thanks to the cultural component, we were able to attract several students from Chemnitz University of Technology this time, all of whom are actively learning Chinese. We also had a guest visit from students from Hangzhou who are pursuing a dual degree at WHZ in Zwickau.
For the next round, we are again planning a business focus to specifically target entrepreneurs and those interested in starting their own businesses.
Anyone interested in participating in this series is welcome to contact us at any time.
